NKBA 30 Under 30 2014 Experience

Being selected as part of the NKBA's 30 Under 30 program was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it for any young professionals in the kitchen and bath industry.

The program highlights the accomplishments and experience of professionals under the age of 30 in our industry, and asks them what they would like to see improve for the next generation of professionals.  They made us feel important, and genuinely wanted our opinions. They also awarded us with unique opportunities/training that would help us improve our careers and product knowledge.  I missed the opportunity with Hansgrohe (which I hear was pretty wet lol), but I did get to participate in the GE Monogram Experience Center training.  I left with a whole new outlook on GE appliances as a whole (not to mention REALLY wanting an Advantium!).  They taught us so much about their products and most importantly, how to use them.  We also got to weigh in on future products with their engineers and designers.  And of course, they fed us some AMAZING food, courtesy of Chefs Joe and Brian.

But the experience was more than networking and presentations.  I made some pretty sweet industry friends, 29 of them.  We all come from different parts of the industry and play different roles, but we had some serious fun.  A huge thank you to Amy Castillo and Julie Russack-Senzig from the NKBA (and a personal thank you to Blue Arnold of Kitchens by Request) for this amazing opportunity.  I hope the next year of 30's have just as great an experience, and as much fun as we did.
